NIGA Here We Come!

Just two more days till Percipia leaves for the National Indian Gaming Association trade show and convention in San Diego, CA!  The conference is being held at the San Diego Convention Center from April 1-4th. There will be 7 training and networking sessions, 100+ expert presenters and great exhibits! What we’re most excited for is The Wendell Chino Humanitarian Award Banquet, which is one of the social high points of the conference. The event is filled with great performances, food and various awards. This year Grammy award winning artist Dwight Yoakam is going to be performing.
While these performances are sure to be amazing, the banquet is most famous for its Wendell Chino Award. Every year the NIGA awards a tribal leader whose actions have improved the lives of its citizens. The Wendell Chino Humanitarian Award was established over 14 years ago and is NIGA’s most prestigious award. It is named in honor of the late iconic, nationally-recognized Mescalero Apache leader who was an unflagging advocate for Indian sovereignty and self-determination and one of the strongest voices for American Indian rights during the 1960s and beyond. During that time he raised his tribe from poverty to prosperity through his advocacy and practice of “red capitalism.” He urged tribal nations to regain control of their lands, exercise sovereignty and grow, and he modeled his philosophy by turning the Mescalero reservation into a small business empire that raised his nation to a level of economic growth never before experienced by any other Native American tribe.
NIGA is committed to being the foremost educational, legislative and public policy resource for tribes. The annual trade show has become one of the biggest and best within the gaming industry. This conference is a great opportunity for attendees to learn about industry trends in the tribal gaming market and network with key members in the industry. Percipia Networks’ very own Major Account Executive, Jennifer Sullivan, will be attending the show and would love the opportunity to introduce herself and Percipia Networks. To contact Jennifer, please send an email to jsullivan@percipianetworks.com . We are so excited to attend this tradeshow and share our experiences, stay tuned for updates and photos.
